Hurrican Irene!

We survived the Hurricane! We were very lucky that it died down to a Tropical storm by the time the eye of the storm reached us, otherwise things could have been a lot worse. It was a very scary night living in a house with a lot of old trees around. Unfortunately one of our trees fell onto our neighbors house, but it came down very slowly and no damage was done. We noticed during the storm that the roots of the tree were showing and it was leaning, so Will ran over to their house to warn them. No one was hurt and no damage was done to their house at all... other than the the giant tree laying on their roof. We  have another tree near the one that fell that also became very loose in the storm and we thought that one was going to go down as well. We could see the tree swaying a lot and could literally see the earth lift up from beneath the tree when a strong gust of wind blew. We now have to have it cut down, but unfortunately no one can get to it until next week.  The tree sits right next to the boys room so it is something that we are going to get done asap! We were very lucky that we didn't have any flooding, or water damage. We really didn't get a ton of rain with this storm, it was mostly wind. We had another old birch tree snap in half in the woods, but it was already dead and in the woods anyway so thats one less tree to worry about. There are a lot of trees and power lines down in our area and a lot of people and businesses are still without power. We are very lucky, we were only without power for a day. You can hear a lot of generators running around town, and its very weird that not much is open for business either. It is very quiet around here, which is actually kind of nice ;)
Here are a few pictures I took.

This is the one that needs to come down on the right.

 Our play gym survived!

July happenings

Another beautiful beach day out in the Hampton's

Charlie, Daddy, and Uncle Bobby did a lot of digging.

This was a very cool flying boat we saw!
The guys played a  little football.

On another beautiful day, we went to the Long Island Game farm with Grandma. It was our first time there and we had a great time.

They put on a really cute show called the Muttville Comix, all with rescued dogs. They do some really neat tricks!

Lukas got to tak a picture with any dog he wanted, and he picked this little guy. And guess what his name was....Charlie! Charlie didn't want to take a picture with the dogs, I was shocked because he talks about getting a dog pretty much everyday.

Now I know I have a lot of pictures of Luke, but he's at an age where he still lets me take pictures. Charlie hates taking pictures, so I take what I can get these days.

 The Train Club
We went to celebrate the Train Clubs 45th birthday. the boys had so much fun driving the trains with Oppa.
