Beach, Birthday Party, and Batman

2 weeks ago we went to the beach with a bunch of Charlie's friends. We went to Robert Moses which is a beach Charlie and Luke had never been to before and I haven't been to since we moved to NY. Its on the South Shore and there are plenty of lifeguards. Its not as nice as the Hamptons but we had a great time with everyone.
A couple of weekends ago, Charlie was invited to his first "big kid" birthday party. It was for cousin Evan's 9th birthday. Charlie fit right in with the older kids and was not shy about playng with them at all. He couldn't quite figure out how to do the slip n' slide but he gets an "a" for effort. They also played with water balloons and squirt guns. Lukas had fun playing with baby cousin Jack and especially liked giving him hugs and kisses.
Last week we heard that Batman was taking a break from all his super hero work to visit the farm and sign some autographs for all of his fans, so of course we wouldn't miss that for the world. When we arrived at the farm, Charlie was not thrilled with the smell but got used to it pretty quickly. Lukas loved feeding the animals and took his very first pony ride. Charlie and Luke took a train ride and then waited patiently for Batman to arrive. When he got there Luke was so excited he was the first one in to see him. As for poor Charlie, his anxiety got the best of him and couldn't get himself to feel comfortable to say hello. So we went and did some things at the farm like play on the bouncy houses and all the trucks and boats. Before we left Luke wanted to see Batman one last time and he actually came over to Charlie to say hi. He was so nervous but ended up being very happy he was able to see him up close. It was a really fun day.
Here is a random picture of Luke, I found him wearing my rain boots one day...i'm not sure where he found them.
This is what happens when Charlie plays his Nintendo DS and Lukas watches.
Last weekend Will got off of work early and we took the boys to see Toy Story 3. It was Lukes first time in the movie theater and probably his last for a while. He did okay because it was Toy Story and he loves those guys but if it were any other movie I don't think he would've lasted the whole time. He spent a lot of time traveling back and forth between us. Later that night we decided to roast marshmallows in the fire pit thing we have and make smores, which then lead Charlie to think of camping. Will got out his tent and set it up. Charlie was so excited to camp in the backyard he got his flashlights, his sleeping bag and his books. They lasted till about 1 am and ended up back inside. they probably would've stayed all night if it wasn't so bumpy

Adventureland

Last week we went to Adventureland and I can't believe we had never taken the boys there before. Its only about 25 mins away and so much fun! There is so much for little ones to do with out all the craziness of a huge theme park. We started the day of with a helicopter ride.
Then a ride in the sheriffs car.
Then a ride in a Batmobile and a convertible
Charlie did the SkyTrail obstacle course with Grandma.
Had a ride on a motorcycle.
And a truck....as you can see this ride was a hit for the boys.
This was a big kid ride, Luke was too little and Charlie thought it was great. He was laughing the whole time and kept shouting something to us which we couldn't understand. When he got off he said he was saying "I can't hold my throat." A great way to describe the feeling!
Here is poor Luke pouting because he wants a baloon.
Grandma and Charlie on the Ferris Wheel.
Luke and I on the Ferris Wheel, happy before I looked out and saw how high we were and then I couldn't wait to get off.
Luke and I on the puppy ride.
Charlie doing the bungee jump thing, trying some acrobatics.
Lucky for Charlie they had seats that sit 2 people on them on the swings, and thanks to Grandma for doing it with him...because there was no way I was going on after how I felt on the Ferris Wheel. We also did a lot of other rides including a roller coaster that the boys had so much fun on we did it twice.

Ahh... A nice trip Upstate!

We took another trip upstate to Grandpa's house and it was so much fun!
Charlie upgraded to the bigger green quad.
Luke sort of was able to ride the red one with someone on with him.
The kids practically lived on the quads if they weren't down in the river.
Gramp took all the kids down to the river by himself, when we got there shortly after, they all had their life jackets on and were ready for some tubing in the river. I didn't take any pictures at the river because my camera would have either been wet or muddy.
Will did a great canoe ride with Justin, but the kids mostly played in it when it wasn't in the water.
Charlie took a few rides on the swing.
Luke liked hanging out in the canoe, but wanted nothing to do with it when it was in the river.
Daddy and Luke on the red quad.
We took the ferry home. It was very windy, the kids were very tired, and it wasn't as fun as we thought it was going to be.

Here is Charlie on the big quad squeezing through tight places. He likes to whip around in the field but every now and again he got tricky.

Here is Luke on the red quad.
