It's no Lanikai.......but it was still nice.

It was beautiful on friday, about 75 degrees, so we went to "Short Beach," the Smithtown beach. It's not the ocean, it's the "sound," actually the body of water between CT and LI. It was a little messy because the beaches aren't open yet and they still need to be cleaned before they open on Memorial day. Charlie had fun, there is a playground there and there were a lot of kids to play with. He did a lot of digging and thinking......

Hot Dog Hot Dog Hot Diggity Dog

Charlie has been loving the hot dog song from Mickey Mouse Clubhouse lately, here he is in action. At the end he realizes he's on camera so he gets a little mad, this is the same thing he does when I ask him if he wants to talk to Nana (or anybody else) on the phone.

# 2 News

I can't remember who we have told and who doesn't know..... but we are expecting baby # 2 in early October, 10/8/2008 is the actual due date. If this pregnancy is anything like it was with Charlie it will probably be more like late September (hopefully). I'm sorry if I haven't done my rounds of phone calls and all that but I've been busy with school trying to get as much courses towards my Master's before the baby gets here, I've also been quite busy with the "terrible 2 year old." Although this was a surprise, we are very excited!! I am about 14 weeks along and it seems like it is flying by. Here is a picture of the 2nd sonogram at 12 weeks, baby is doing great! And yes, we will definitely find out what we are having again. You all know I don't do surprises in any shape or form.
All this excitement prompted me to go searching for Charlie's newborn pics, I almost forgot what he looked like because it flew by so quickly. He was so darn cute I thought I would share...... this is a pic that we took in the hospital This was his homecoming day, yay! I don't know.... while I was looking through the pics I just thought this was so cute, and I was cracking up at how he was only a few weeks old and I was already dressing him like a little man (it was Easter Sunday). Now, I am very excited about the new baby, but I'm not sure I'm so excited about looking like this again. This was me with a 50 lb weight gain, and I truly believe that because I will be pregnant through the sumer and will be sweating like a pig through August and September, there should be no way for me to gain that much again...... right?? And this picture is self explanatory.....super cute!

Adding Info

So there has been a lot of hype about autism and vaccines and all that garbage lately, and I find that a lot of people have been asking me for information and inquiring about what to do. When I meet a new person, wherever I may be, and share my occupation as well as being a mom of a 2 year old typical boy, I find this topic always comes up. "What did you do about the shots? Did he get the MMR?" Well, I can't tell anyone what to do, I can only share what I did with Charlie and encourage everyone to educate themselves. Charlie did have a few shots, not all of them, they were spaced out, he only had ones by specific manufacturers (all thimerosal free, not even a trace, because by the way a lot of shots do still have thimerosal in them and it's not just the MMR to worry about!), and he still has not recieved the MMR (in case you were wondering). This is a topic I can go on and on about forever so I'll cease it now before I get carried away. It's a scary world we live in and we can only be pro-active with our lives and our children's. We have to make important decisions as parents. I believe it is very important for us to educate ourselves and make informed decisions before following the pack and doing what every other parent is doing. I've found in the past week, at Charlie's gym class 2 mom's, my neighbor up the block, and a mom I met at a bridal shower all asked for some of my info on vaccines and autism. So, I decided I would make a list of links for anyone else who would like to check it out (why I didn't think of this before, I'm not sure) So to the left there is a list of links about Vaccine info, and below that some Autism links. Of course there is so much info out there, but these are the ones on my favorites list and I do check periodicly. They seem to be the most knowledgeble with accurate info from reputable sites. Hope this helps some of you new moms, old moms and future moms!
